I think people who are really good writers can be very judgemental. That doesn’t have to be a bad thing but it’s very interesting. I think looking for a problem in any piece of writing is kind of excessive. Catherine has me thinking of science when it comes to writing. The way I interpreted her text is that there is no right way to do it but there is always a problem that needs to be explored. In science, in order for a hypothesis or for a thesis something has to be proven wrong or there has to be some sort of problem within the thesis or hypothesis.

I think Christine really leans into how every question asked has multiple layers to it. A simple question has layers. Problems have layers, everything has depth to it to some degree. I think they both do a good job at explaining that there is always a problem with the way some people write. I’m not sure but I think they do agree on some concepts about writing. There is no wrong way to write because each writing is a response to a certain question. When people write they are trying to communicate either a point or a perspective. I think ultimately people study writing to be better communicators with their writing.  I think in many ways writing can be art depending on how someone presents it. I believe that the best way to be a writer is to find problems within your own writing.
