American English is so funny to me because there are a lot of rules when it comes to writing, but, when speaking, none of the rules matter. I think some rules in the English language are like how some words have letters but it doesn’t need to be pronounced. The word lasagna comes to mind. I think the author describes AAVe is similar to how people talk about jewelry or some type of accessory when discussing clothes. I think it’s about how the accessory is supposed to complement the outfit. It’s supposed to add some extra flare, like how Aave does. AAve is described to be something more relatable and interactive in a way. It keeps the reader interested and adds depth/ character to the speech. I think the reason why a lot of people don’t incorporate aave into their writings is because of how it looks rather than sounds. I think the excess abbreviations or different ways certain words are pronounced or spelled can distract from the point the writer is trying to make. I think that Aave is more digestible than proper English, but I believe that when it comes to certain types of writing, AAVE isn’t the best way to go. I do agree with the other author that learning English is a way to assimilate others into American imperialism. I think learning both English and A personally never used aave in my writing mainly because it didn’t look professional. I will try to use Aave inthe future in my writings.
