When you have to complete a research paper, first
thing you do is think about your board topic. You go into the computer, type your question and thousands of different articles and journals become available. You get flustered, so you ask yourself “What can I learn from this topic?” Now, you say who can this apply to? How? Why? Savini wants us to understand that in order to figure out the problem to your writing, you must ask yourself questions. Savini wants students to understand there is a more complex way to become interested in your writing is when you familiarize yourself with your thoughts. Ask fruitful questions, note and articulate your
essay.

As we write this blog, we are writing our response to
readings we have read. In order to process what you want to write, you must have a general topic. There is no such thing of writing in general. Writing has a purpose, context and audience. I believe writing in general, does not exist. Wardle mentions if writing was meant to be in general, English and Writing teachers would have the easiest job in the world but since there so many different forms of writing, you must have a purpose whether it’s comedy, drama,
romance, or horror. Writing has different audiences and contexts.

Both writers are able to understand were writing comes
from. Savini says we need to ask questions about what we want to learn throughout out essay. Wardle says we cannot write “in general”
because writing has a purpose, context and audiences. Deciding what you want to include within your writing speaks higher volume.
