Writing is a process that is unique to the individual writer rather than bound to the confines of any system. It is harder than most would give credit for and people will either fail or develop the condition that shall not be named…writers block. Mastering in writing isn’t something that you learn in the confines of a classroom, of sure you can learn the principles and like Christopher Morales writes, teachers may say that the process of writing is more important than the result as the process informs to the product. However, there is more to writing the adhering to a set of principles and rules, it is self-expression, and thus the method is ultimately up to the writer.

It is therefore only nature that writers find themselves presented with failure and suffer procrastination. No one can just write for the sake of it, writing is the result of inspiration that hits with a thunder bolt in random moments in time. Moreover, an author must always be ready to seize on the inspiration so as to not lose it. No true good piece of literature comes from a man-made font of inspiration, it comes and goes, and a good writer must always be able to shake off procrastination.

A good writer must always be on the lookout for inspiration, because lightning doesn’t strike twice in the same place. They must be willing to accept the possibility of failure and have the mentality to learn from it, while also being willing to explore and experiment with other processes in their writing.
