Multitasking

After reading The Effects of Chronic Multitasking on Analytical Writing by Danielle M. Lottridge I was pretty shocked. I feel like my whole life when it comes to multitasking is a lie. After reading Lottridge’s article appeared, multitasking can damage your brain according to studies. Reading more into the article I read that according to studies “The frequent multitaskers performed worst because they had more trouble organizing their thoughts and filtering out irrelevant information, and they were slow on switching from one task to another”. This was a really interesting read because no matter how you look at it it’s hard to believe. You were dawned as great if you knew how to do more than one thing at once. But to be honest I can understand how it can be tiring and can damage your brain.

Discussion

Let’s discuss what we just learned. We learned that multitasking actually is a bad thing for our body more than we thought. From personal experience, I am able to multitask but it would become tiring. it gets hard to focus after some time but I do tend to get more work done. As people of Earth naturally we want stuff to be done faster. We as people are extremely impatient and it shows a lot. When we multitask we like the saying that says “Kill two birds with one stone”. Not knowing our body is actually taking a major toll from it which after thinking about it, it is true. Quick example, I used to play games and eat a lot when I was younger. Every time I went for a bite I would get worst until I stop focusing on the food at hand. It all makes sense now.
