Multitasking on your phone ?

I believe that multitasking is ok as long as you can actually be productive. In the article by Travis Bradberry he explains to us how multitasking isn’t a good thing and can actually make you less productive. I personally disagree with this because although it is better to focus all your effort into one thing, you can still complete multiple tasks at the same time. For example imagine how long it would take to cook a meal if you made each dish one by one. Although you were at your max productivity level, you still completed less in the same time compared to someone who made the dishes simultaneously. I do think there is a line that needs to be drawn because multi tasking can also be done in different ways. The next article by John Warner talked about cellphones in the classroom. This article was talking about all the concerns and questions that may come up as a teacher in a classroom setting. When teaching ypou want to be heard, and would prefer not to be ignored, but then you dont want to seem controlling over your students as well. No cell phone policy is helpful at times and I can see why it is in place. Somebody may be able to multitask, but you aren’t fully taking in whats happening if you are on your phone. These two topics are good for comparing and contrasting because phones in the classroom are a big topic at the moment. Some students may argue that they can multitask, or even say they are collaborating between their phone and computer for notes. On the other hand, you have students who would most likely use social media platforms and play games while also drowning out what is being taught.
