Writing to Plan Writing

When it comes to writing, planning is important. Oftentimes, going into it with nothing, you will have no idea what to write about. This is especially true in laboratory and/or scientific settings where you or someone else has observed the data that you are using. In cases where someone else has done the observing, it is important whether or not the source can be trusted. Always use caution as using improper data can cause improper results or having the whole work thrown out. Always have an error of caution and check if a source is trustworthy. It’s important to remember the feelings of those involved, especially if they’re aware they’re being studied.

When it comes to doing the data yourself, always plan how you are going to do so in advance. Different studies require different methodologies, or the used methodology should be changed due to its flawed nature. Everyone has a different writing style and likewise, everyone has different ways to collect and retain data. I, for example, prefer recording because I don’t have the best memory. Always be specific and double-check. Even the smallest margin of error can throw the entire thing off and change the results.

Speaking for results, it’s important to put it in a way that can be understood but also get the point across. Otherwise, all that has been done is for naught. A summary of the data is a good way to do this. It gets all your points across in a simple way, the basis for this writing.
