Feedback is so important in every aspect of life. Feedback creates stronger athletes, singers, friends, writers, and many other things. Feedback allows people to recognize things they may not have on their own. It helps a person recognize their weaknesses and allows them to strengthen them. For writers, feedback is crucial to creating a successful and captivating paper. Feedback is what helps a person reach excellence. When writing, people often get too focused on one idea and can not see outside of it. When proofreading, writers often get numb to the ideas they have created and the words they have put together. Because of this, it is so important for writers to rely on their peers to read over their work and give them feedback. This feedback will often broaden the writer’s perspective of what they are writing about and help them recognize aspects that may need some extra work.
In the past, I have confided in my English teacher to read and review different drafts of my college essay. When I began this process with her, I had nothing more than an ordinary essay with a not so extraordinary story. I read my essay over and over again, to the point where everything started to sound the same. My teacher at the time took the time to give me feedback that completely changed my essay. With her different ideas and perspectives, I was able to create an essay that not only was meaningful to me but touched every person who read it. I could have never created such a strong piece of work on my own.
