Multimodal Text: Many Pathways to True Expression

In dipping my toe into the podcasting arena, I have learned what it means to know your audience and your message. It was difficult at first for me to grasp the idea that what I have to say and what I may take interest in may not be of interest to many people. Knowing your audience is foundational in creation no matter what mode of communication you choose. It opens the door for those who do believe in your message to interact with your content in meaningful ways. In the healthiest narcissistic way, I wanted to believe that my exigence & purpose would be of use to everyone especially given the context, but creative freedom is the awareness and the acceptance that it will not.

When it dawned on me that my original mode of communication (linguistic) was a bit limiting for what I wanted to express, I began to brainstorm what other forms of communication and its medium I could venture into that would grant me the most authority to amplify my message. I went through a multitude of trial and error, especially within the genre territory. I had so many ideas and none of them meshed for a specific audience, message, and/or genre. It took me two years of small steps to finally find the genre(s), the message, the audience, and the medium to even sit down to write a script!

Now all I need is for Professor Friend to assign a reading or some recommendations on how to create a proper script and I will be good to go!
