I think the major point of both the readings was simply the way a person plans to write. I think that the concept of drafts is very important but I still think that just because you have a final draft doesn’t mean it’s the best draft. I have had experiences where my first draft was better than my final draft. I do think it is important for writers to pre-write before they write depending on the topic of course. I think pre-writing allows people to communicate thoughts effectively gather evidence and fully develop the topic within the piece of writing. Sometimes keeping the audience in mind will affect how the writing will be perceived. I think if you’re trying to be sensitive to one group of people it can create shortcomings or misconceptions of that same group or another. I think that’s why some people might have writer’s block or writer insecurity. Having too many people inside your head while trying to write is not effective. I think that the duration of a writing piece doesn’t matter because as long as it is effective it is fine. I don’t know how long my favorite writer wrote but I think that’s the point of writing. Something that was mentioned in another article is that writing is an art form. Art doesn’t have a duration just an effect on those who view it. I think drafting is important because it allows you to revise, but some of my best work wasn’t revised so I don’t know.
