Writing is your POWER

Writing is a dive into what your true soul speaks, not caring if people agree or disagree with your writing. This past weekend, we read the article “Identity, Authority, and Learning to Write in New Workplaces.” by Elizabeth Wardle. You see, Identity is dynamic, and it’s shown repeatedly as we learn to unlearn who we are. It requires an acceptance of ourselves to hold a source of “power.” However, what if we just dropped our ego and let ourselves simply be? We don’t realize how many “Alans” we know in our life; a person who isn’t satisfied with their being always has to feel some sort of superiority to “feel good” or to show that they are knowledgeable. I’ve always said to pay attention to quiet people, for wisdom is silence, and the loud truly don’t know. As a person, I have held my journals since I was 14 years old and would consider myself a pretty intelligent being; I’m also aware that there’s always space for growth. We are always a student in life as long as we keep our minds open to it. The second we fall into the trance of I know it all, we close our minds from different perspectives and understandings. When you have authority, you are knowledgeable in the subject; however, you don’t come off as it. You present the information in a broad spectrum; as we write, we realize that we may not know who we are speaking to, but it can be showcased to all ages. I feel like that feeling of authority really comes from our inner child and is pushed into adulthood. Remember the power in your voice and thoughts, put them into this physical world, and write.
