Literacies affect me professionally by impacting how and if I can interact, adapt and communicate effectively in a professional setting.

For example in the current job that I have, technology and digital art play a very important and key role in making flyers and posters or even spreadsheets or events that are upcoming or that have already happened. My digital literacy allows me to manage any task that is given to me but it also allows me to effectively adapt to changes that may come my way because I am not unfamiliar with certain software that is used at my job on a day to day basis.

Another example would be that on the weekends I work as a waitress and having a literacy in customer service allows me to deliver the best service I can to any guests that come into the restaurant. On one day, on average I tend to see around sixty and eighty people and you have to juggle moving tough the customers as fast as you can along with still giving them good and attentive service is something that only comes with a customer service literacy. Also understanding how to navigate helping a guest who may be disgruntled or upset is something that is very common on a day to day basis weather its a problem with the food or with their drinks or even the temperature of the restaurant, navigating these issues and not further upsetting the guest but coming to a resolution or a compromise is crucial and able to happen with a customer service literacy
