Why study Writing?

You study English to better yourself in writing. It also helps you to arrange your ideas, evaluate sources, and create arguments, which strengthens your capacity for critical thought. The Catherine Savini, “Looking for Trouble” reading is about how individuals learn from their experiences, which better shape themselves in the future.

This reading shows that you should always approach challenges thoughtfully and reflect on the lesson you gained from them. In my opinion, the same goes for when you are studying writing; you learn more and gain from the experience of learning it. We use the English language and write

every day. Studying writing will always help you in everyday life. Whether it be at work, for school or sending someone a quick email or text. We all use writing in our daily lives.

After reading Elizabeth Wardles, “You can learn how to write” I agree with Elizabeth that writing should focus on teaching students how to adapt to different writing skills. There are so many different ways to write things; why stick to one thing when you have so many different options to choose from? Also, learning different writing skills may be better for some people. It may give them bigger opportunities in the future.

In my opinion, the teachers should give the students options on how to teach them writing skills. It should be in there best interest to show them how to learn a day-to-day skill. By providing a variety of approaches, including technical writing, journaling, blogging, and creative writing, students can interact with the content in their own way and according to their own learning preferences.
