I choose Finding Your Style, Finding Your Voice by Molly Heine during this week’s blog post. What I found interesting throughout the reading is how we all have our own style of writing, which also connects to how we speak to ourselves and how we speak to others. I do believe the steps she takes are important to our writing; they allow the audience to relate to us, as she states, “Finding your style and voice is done by being original in your writing, using life experiences, stepping out of your comfort zone, and by writing often.” You get to express yourself fully when you can write without rigidity or rules. I look at all of us humans as beings with all elements within us, and as we tap into writing, we release our thoughts into material matter. It takes the journey of getting to know yourself because some don’t know their voice and the power in their voice, and they don’t know how to express themselves with no judgment, as the system tends to tell you right from wrong when there is none. Just like everything in life, it requires practice. You aren’t naturally good at anything you first start with. I t’s taking it with grace, moving and grooving slowly. Have patience with yourself and allow yourself to make mistakes. Molly explained her writing experience and how her confidence was boosted throughout her high school career due to her professor. We can relate this to everyone in their field; when you get the recognition, you can truly allow yourself to express and feel. You feel seen, and looked after and even getting feedback that can improve your future reading! Thanks for reading!
