I won’t hire people who use poor grammar. Here’s why:

In my opinion, not hiring someone because of a grammar mistake is a going a bit too far to the point where they wouldn’t be hired because of a simple mistake. Everyone makes mistakes in their writing, whether you own up to it or not, theres always at least one mistake people have made when writing. Some may argue that grammar is the most important aspect of writing, which it is, but making a mistake to determine whether you are a good for for that job goes far beyond the expectations that need to be met for a job. And others may argue that mistakes are meant to happen and will understand that everyone makes mistakes in their life whether it’s when writing, or life in general. in Kyle Wiens’ article  “I Won’t Hire People Who Use Poor Grammar. Here’s Why.” is by far over the top and harsh. I am able to understand why people may agree with his argument. However, i disagree and don’t think it is fair for those who may have the best resume and experience, but don’t get the job because of a simple grammar mistake.

Throughout Bugan’s article “Being an immigrant writer in America today” compared to Wiens’ article is by far more fair, understanding and realistic, in my opinion. instead of critiquing people for making a grammar mistake, he offers and suggests new ideas that can potentially help their writing and to use their own freedom of speech to get their point across effectively. In Bugan’s writing, he mentions a personal story about his father and the outcome of his speech that put him in jail. Bugan emphasize a touching reminder that however and whatever you want to write that is meaningful to you, take that advantage and use all the advice and tools that are given to have a good writing.
