After reading Penrose & Geisler reading and writing without authority I would say I see myself more like Janet rather than Roger and Alan. I am a college student just like Janet with more experience to gain compared to others. As I progress in my college career I am still learning about the study of ethics, while reading this article I can tell I was nothing like Rodger who had great knowledge and had experience. Janet is relatable on the fact that I am an outsider looking in when it comes to writing as an authority inside the conversation of ethics. Confidence in one’s own authority increases and with me only being in my early 20’s I know there is room for improvement. Just like Janet I like to have my writing organized topically as the reader can be engaged with what they’re reading without feeling lost and confused. In my writing I like to include the facts along with the evidence as it can make my piece more credible in whatever I am talking about just like janet. Although unlike Janet I would not want my facts to be undisputed and unauthored. I also see myself like Janet because of the way she was uncomfortable as the authors had disagreements which lead to controversy. I can be like this sometimes while I interview someone for an article because if the statement is too controversial I have to decide if it is appropriate enough to put it in the story. In my writing I sometimes use examples to clarify or illustrate to the reviewers, i see myself like Janet out of all the 3 writers, there are a lot of similarities such as the age, education and how we are outsiders looking in when it comes to writing as an authority inside the conversation of ethics.
