The first article is about multitasking and how it is bad for your brain. The article is titled “Multitasking Damages Your Brain And Career, New Studies Suggest” written by Travis Bradbury. The article uses research conducted at the Stanford University, according to them multitasking is less productive than doing one thing at a time. “Research conducted at Stanford University found that multitasking is less productive than doing a single thing at a time” (Bradbury). People who are bombarded with work cannot pay attention, recall information, or switch from one job to another. They tend to work better when they have only one job at a time.

At Stanford University they took people who have a tendency to multitask and belief that it helps their performance, and in their studies they found that those who like to multitask are worse than those who prefer doing a single thing at a time. “The Stanford researchers compared groups of people based on their tendency to multitask and their belief that it helps their performance. They found that heavy multitaskers those who multitask a lot and feel that it boosts their performance were actually worse at multitasking than those who like to do a single thing at a time” (Bradbury). Those who multitask had trouble organizing their work and sorting out what’s relevant and what isn’t. Multitasking reduces one’s efficiency and performance because your brain can only focus on on thing at a time. If you try to do two things at once it will take longer to get your work done. Your brain can only work with one job at a time.
